"At one table,
the soldiers started talking about
how "awesome" everything
about the evening was. One soldier
said, "I tell you what. I've
done a lot of things--seen a lot of
things, but that was just something
different." He said,
"Seeing those riders--the
Patriot Guard with the flag flying.
That was just something different.
I've gotta call my brother and tell
him about this." Another soldier
chimed in with "Man, I was
gettin' tears in my eyes. I couldn't
believe they were ridin' in that
rain." The other soldiers at the
table sat there eating their pizza
and nodding their heads and grinning.
I got up and moved to
another table and before long there
was a variation on the first
scenario. "Ma'am, this is
unreal! I can't explain how I felt
when I saw those bikers."
"Y'all have an awesome church
that would do something like this!
I'm gonna come back here when I'm
done with basic."
I want to say my own
personal thanks to the Patriot Guard
for all they have done and will do to
support our troops and families. I
also want the Second Wind Riders to
know that I love them and appreciate
them for making our family so welcome
so immediately upon our arrival. We
have had a BLAST! Fort
Benning/Columbus/Cornerstone will be
the place of some of our fondest
memories. Our first biking memories!
:)
Speaking of that,
guess what!?!! I completed the FTB
motorcycle safety course today, will
get my permit tomorrow and MAY get my
Honda Shadow this weekend!!!!!
Yippeee!"

Hello, I am the aunt of Fallen Marine
Lance Corporal William Spencer.
Yesterday, January 7, 2007, was
Billy's funeral at Milford High
School in Cincinnati. I had the
privilege and honor of being one of
the family members who were able to
ride with you from the school to the
cemetery. It was a such an uplifting
experience for members of our family
and friends of Billy's to be able to
ride. For those few minutes, we were
relieved of some of the sadness and
stress that has been upon us. We know
Billy was looking down upon us saying
"Way to go". I would like
to Personally thank each and every
person that was there to show their
support. I also would like to thank
the person in our area who organized
everything. I am sorry but I can not
remember anyone's name. Even though
he said it was last minute, they
accommodated our every need. I also
would like to thank the gentleman who
I rode with. His name slips my mind
right now, but he was very kind in my
time of sorrow. Please pass this on
to him. Please see that our gratitude
is known through out your
organization.
Thank you. Debra Sorrell
