Dear Bob Woods, Ride
Captain, and our precious Terri
Monnin,
I have just now been
able to express my deepest
appreciation for the honor, abiding
respect and admiration that was shown
to my Father, Craig E. Hufnale at his
viewing and funeral on January 24th,
2007
the coldest day in January.
I can not express in
words what it meant to all of our
family and friends. The
messages of heartfelt sympathy posted
from all the wonderful service people
were overwhelming and I want to thank
one of the members for taking
pictures of the Guard in place at the
burial site. They were indeed like
guardian angels watching over us at
the service with their beautiful
American and Military Flags waving
honorable in the bitter cold
wind. Twelve brave soldiers
including our dearest Terri took
their place in two rows and stood
tall against the elements thru the
entire service
..12 is a
significant number as their were
twelve Apostles and my Father was
buried along side my Mother in the
Apostles Garden at the Forest Hills
Cemetery.
This Group is without
a doubt the most caring and giving
group of men and women and associates
every known. The sacrifices
they have made and continue to make
is why we are the UNITED STATES of
AMERICA, the land of the free and the
home of the brave
..you are all
HEROES in our eyes and we pray every
day and night for all our Military
people to be held in the Loving Hands
of our Dear Lord and Savior.
In Loving Fellowship,
Margie & Darrell, and the
families of Brian, Kevin, & Carey
Lairson and Dale Bartley
PS: Would like you all
to know that I am proud to perform a
Patriotic Duty of my own.
I am known as the
Flag Lady in
Northridge. My Husband and I
and our family are responsible for
maintaining and providing close to 65
to 85 US Flags and one complete set
of Military Flags displayed Proudly
on the main street in our Community,
North Dixie Drive on newly installed
Light Poles.
With the help of
flyers and newspaper articles I
write, our School System, Businesses
and VFW and American Legion along
with other Community and Civic
Organizations donate the money to
make this Display possible. We
coordinate the installation and
maintenance of the flags while they
are displayed from the first Military
Holiday in May until they are taken
down in October after our Community
Parade.
This display has
persevered for the past four years
and as long as I am able to continue
it I will
.the Flag Display was
the idea of a Mother from our School
who had a son serving in Iraq and
wanted a way to welcome home her son
as well as all of those from our
community returning from
duty
.it was accepted
overwhelmingly by our Township
Trustees and the School and
Business communities as well as
private donors.
God Bless our Flag and
Country always.
Margie Lairson
